Africa Stand Up...Nigerian Woman Richest Woman In The World!!!

Why am I so excited that a Nigerian woman that I do not know is the richest woman in the world, meaning she has surpassed Oprah Winfry; who used to occupy that spot? Well, for one, she is African, albeit Nigerian, and the fact that she is African, is a source of joy to me, and should for all Africans. It tells me that whatever you put your mind to, as long as you work hard, you can break boundaries beyond your imagination...and boy, do I wish she is my friend(lol...I love my friends, even if they are cray cray).
Forbes' Magazine has named the 63-year-old Nigerian fashion designer and oil tycoon, Folorunsho Alakij, as “One of Forbes’ 100 Most Influential Women in the World,” and the richest woman at $3.3 billion: $300 million more than the queen of talk shows, Oprah Winfry, and surpassing the wealth of Isabel Dos Santos, the first African billionaire and the daughter of Angolan president.
Folorunsho Alakij is the owner of a fashion label called Supreme Stitches, from which she started to make her money and also an oil company. What makes her story even more alluring and inspirational is the fact that she never went to college or university. She just worked hard to pave a way for herself. “So I am 63 and I am not yet done,” she said. So what is your excuse? I never went to a University and I am proud to say so because I don’t think I have done too badly,” she said. “You do not have to have a university education to be able to make it so count yourselves privileged to have that education as part of the feather in your cap.”
They say when you work hard, you play harder. She is reported to have over a $1oo million real estate portfolio, and a private jet that is worth $45 million. Check that! Won't she adopt me? lol!

Work harder now, play even harder later; my mantra.

What do you think?
