ROUND-UP OF 2014

So, I took a break during the holidays to release stress from working all the time, and to just chill. I know y'all missed me. I did too. Happy New Year, loves!!! I pray 2015 brings us, yes me inclusive, all the good that we deserve.

So...I'm just going to catch you up on all the tea and gossip I gathered over the break, and then some.

Here you go...

Starting off on a high note, our one and only 'Abodam' aka Kwaw Kesse, was granted bail, thank you Lord. I, particularly was over the moon with excitement that he was bailed. It doesn't even mater that the bail was granted due to his poor health. I was just psyched that he was out the slumber.

Meanwhile, Ghana's Finest's, KKD got himself in a whole lot of mess last December when he was arrested on rape charges brought on him by his 19 year old 'girlfriend'. On 27th of December, he was arrested and has since been denied bail. As rape charges do not attract bail, he got to spend the New Year's behind bars; I'm sure that was not what he expected to happen to him at all. KKD was one of the most respected in the industry. A role model to many broadcasters and showbiz personalities, it came as a shock to many people;me inclusive, that he got himself in this mess.

J. Cole sold over 300,000+ copies of his third studio album, which also earned him his third no1 position on the Billboard top 200 chart. The album, Forest Hills Drive, is a tribute to the things that happen in his everyday life, and the society as a whole. It touched subjects on the killings of young black men by white police officers, touched on drugs within black communities and also his own personal issues. This album made me fall much more in love with him; not only as a rapper, but as a human being as well.

The ending weeks of 2014, I dubbed 'the weeks of excellent rap music' (and very good RnB as well, but imma just keep that to myself), evidence in the J.Cole album, and of course the queen of rap at the moment, miss Nicki Minaj( say what you want but we both know it's true) release of The PinkPrint. And did she let us have it. She let us in, in the most private of her thoughts, and the most darkest( thoughts of popping pills, the abortion that she had to have as a teen, the loss of her cousin to street gangs), and I loved her for that. I have ALWAYS been a Nicki fan, not fronting, but this particular album solidified her spot in my heart. Apart from Anaconda,(not a fan of the song, or the vid, but who cares right?), I ate up the rest of the songs on this album. And oh, she copped her fourth no1 with ''Only'', on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop songs- the most among female rappers in 56years since the charts launched sales as a hybrid/airplay tally. Play on, play on, play on!!!

My fav Hollywood couple, Chris Brown and Kae Tran got back together again over the holidays. And that is that. No more.
