The Kaneshie District Court presided
over by Mrs Adwoa Akyaamaa Ofosu, hearing the case involving Kwasi Kyei
Darkwah, a.k.a KKD, has received a medical report recommending that the accused
person visit a clinical psychologist.
Ms Suzana Nyarko, who held the brief
for Tony Forson, the counsel for the accused person explained to the court that
KKD visited the hospital for his review session Wednesday and it was recommended
he sees a psychologist as such his absence.
She said there recommendation that
the accused person be given a week bed rest.
All these, of course, were contained
in the medical report and a letter addressed to the court to explain the
condition of the accused person.
The Acting Director of Public
Prosecutions, Mrs Cynthia Lamptey confirmed receiving the medical report but
said the state was not aware of the further explanation concerning the health
of the accused person.
This will be the second time the
accused has been absent in court, which has forced the court to adjourn the
matter at the instance of the defense counsel on excuse of ill health.
A human rights court in Accra has granted him bail on humanitarian grounds to the sum of GH₵ 20, 000.00 with two sureties after he was arrested by the Airport Police on 27 of December 2014 for allegedly raping a 19 year old girl in a hotel’s bathroom.
The case has been adjourned to February 18.
This case is becoming a drag isn't it?
what are your thoughts on it though?
